  <dt>· What is this here?</dt>
  <dd>Well, this site is a bulletin board where you can talk to other people, ask your questions
  or help by replying. Most sections can be read without having an user account. We have no categories,
  but sort our postings by tags. On <i>HOME</i> you can see our latest topics and most used tags.
  Below you have a calendar to list any postings written in that month. To search specific postings or
  other search criteria, please use <i>SEARCH</i> directly.
  </dd>
  <dt><a name="nolicense">· Can I reuse the posting text of another author?</a></dt>
  <dd>This depends on the license applied to that posting. You can have a look at a small icon on the left side of
  any subject line. If there is a <img src="{$XF_URI_IMAGE}/license_none.png" alt="no license" />, you are only
  allowed to copy the text by your local copyright law restrictions. Usually a small quote including a link to the
  source is permitted. Any other symbol means a different license and click on it to read the license text.
  </dd>
  <dt>· Why do I get "Access Denied" messages?</dt>
  <dd>Usually this happens because you are not logged with your user account. Another reason may be
  that your authentication became invalid. Then you should reload the page in your browser. The forum will
  ask you to renew it. Last but not least you may simply just have no permission to access that given area.
  </dd>
  <dt>· What data will be stored when I register?</dt>
  <dd>We only store a minimal set of your personal data. New user accounts must be enabled once by providing
  an activation string. This will be send to you by e-mail, so you must provide a valid address. That is all.
  We encourage you to think twice before submitting (private) data in your posting messages.
  </dd>
  <dt>· I cannot login to your forum!</dt>
  <dd>Please ensure you have cookies enabled in your browser and they are not blocked by a filter or proxy
  servers. You will get a time limited session cookie for authentication.
  </dd>
  <dt>· My clock in the upper navigation bar is wrong!</dt>
  <dd>This clock is generated by your browser using your local time and language settings. You should have a look
  on your preferences, maybe even on your operating system. All other dates shown on our forum are calculated by us
  according to your timezone you selected in <i>MY PROFILE</i>.
  </dd>
  <dt>· How does rating of a posting work?</dt>
  <dd>If you like or dislike a posting you just read, you may rate it by clicking on the specific button. Please note
  that you can only rate a posting once and it cannot be revoked. Good postings will become green as more users rate
  is positively. Otherwise negative postings will become red. The scale ranges from -100 to 100 points. At first you
  have two points per vote. As soon as you have some positive postings yourself, you will get bonus points up to 10.
  Any bonus point is indicated by a small star beneath your profile view. Negative values are represented by a red circle.
  </dd>
  <dt>· Why am I not allowed to rate a posting?</dt>
  <dd>Before you can rate a posting, you have to be member of our forum for at least seven days and submitted ten or
  more postings on your own. This is neccessary to prevent abusing of the rating system.
  </dd>
  <dt>· What is this little orange button on the right of any topic?</dt>
  <dd>This is a so called RSS feed. Today many e-mail programs or specialized feed aggregators can fetch this data
  and process it. It replaces e-mail notifications. We currently provide two feeds. One includes the latest topics.
  If you subscribe to it, your reader will show them without the need for you to go to our <i>HOME</i>. The second
  feed allows you to subscribe to any topic and its replies.
  </dd>
  <dt>· Can you explain the meaning of the icons beside any subject line?</dt>
  <dd>
  <img src="{$XF_URI_IMAGE}/ext/emblem-readonly.png" alt="closed topic" /> This topic is closed and accepts no new replies.<br />
  <img src="{$XF_URI_IMAGE}/user_involved.png" alt="user involved" /> You have a posting written in this topic.<br />
  <img src="{$XF_URI_IMAGE}/ext/emblem-symbolic-link.png" alt="last unread posting" /> Links to your first unread posting in this topic.<br />
  <img src="{$XF_URI_IMAGE}/ext/document-new.png" alt="new posting" /> This topic contains unread postings.<br />
  </dd>
  <dt>· Not all posts are listed as expected on search!</dt>
  <dd>Under some circumstances this behaviour is correct. Topics do have a so called Weight. The higher it is, the earlier the
  posting gets listed on search results or homepage. Consequently important postings will appear first. By doing this we are able
  to post announcements for example.
  </dd>
  <dt>· What does "Report Posting" mean?</dt>
  <dd>By clicking this link you can report that posting to our moderators. You should do this, if you think the
  submitted posting violates our rules, is against public morals or contains criminally liable content. This
  helps us keeping the forum clean and you happy.
  </dd>
  <dt>· I am bothered by postings an user wrote. Can I make him "hidden" somehow?</dt>
  <dd>Yes, our forum supports blacklisting. If you do not want to read postings by an user anymore, you can add him
  to your blacklist. This can be done by clicking on the corresponding link in option bar beneath the posting.
  In the future his postings are hidden and replaced by a note containing a link where you can
  delist him, if you like to.
  </dd>
  <dt>· Can I send a message to an user in private?</dt>
  <dd>No, we do not provide such functionality. You may submit contact information like e-mail address, instant messaging
  uid or a link to your homepage in your posting message. Obviously that information is publicy available then, so you might
  consider to use a disposable e-mail address to protect your privacy. Then you may transmit sensible information.
